The film's title, The Girls From Glenwood Avenue, is inspired by the 1963 hit record 442 Glenwood Avenue by The Pixies Three. It is a metaphor for all the female groups, female soloists, and female songwriters who have made contributions in the history of music, particularly in the "Golden Era" of the girl group pop music phenomenon (1956-1969).
